Seriously?

I can understand Iraqis throwing shoes at Bush. I can understand anyone throwing shoes at Bush, or throwing anything at him, period.
F*ckBush
But throwing a book at Obama is like kicking a surgeon in the nuts while he’s performing open-heart surgery on your loved one. Especially if said loved one has been gorging themselves on bacon fat, cigarettes and salt rocks for the past century and you’ve called in the good doctor on the eve of the patient’s demise only to demand a full recovery overnight. Let the man work, people!!! His first name is Barack, not Merlin.
You have to wonder how much those in the opposition really know about the issues they’re taking issue with. Change does not happen overnight. It will take Chaz Bono up to 5 more years to fully transition into manhood and he’s already surgically removed and replaced all the necessary parts of his anatomy! You think he doesn’t wish he had a fast forward button he could press to speed up the process a bit? Some things you just can’t rush.
We’ve gotten ourselves into a big hole in this country. Anyone, regardless of their religious or political affiliation can see that. Helen Keller could see it, it’s so obvious. What should be equally as apparent is the fact that just because we (finally) got rid of Bush and replaced that pathetic excuse for a leader human being with someone who is actually qualified and committed to getting us back on track, doesn’t mean we then immediately Pass Go and Collect 13 Trillion Dollars.
Life is more like Twister than Monopoly. And who doesn’t like Twister??

“Do stuff. Be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration’s shove or society’s kiss on your forehead. Pay attention. It’s all about paying attention. Attention is vitality. It connects you with others. It makes you eager. Stay eager.”

“Stop caring what other people think. How? Understand that this is your life, not theirs, and you’ll have no one to blame but yourself if things don’t work out the way you’d hoped…their opinion shouldn’t matter more than your own.”

Daily dose of wiseness :)

“Each day, life will send you little windows of opportunity. Your destiny will ultimately be defined by how you respond to these windows of opportunity. Shrink from them and your life will be small, feel the fear and run to them anyway, and your life will be big. Life’s just too short to play little.”
— Robin Sharma
“I could have. What does this phrase mean? At any given moment in our lives, there are certain things that could have happened but didn’t. The magic moments go unrecognized, and then suddenly, the hand of destiny changes everything.
But love is much like a dam: if you allow a tiny crack to form through which only a trickle of water can pass, that trickle will quickly bring down the whole structure, and soon no one will be able to control the force of the current.
Love is a trap. When it appears, we see only its light, not its shadows.”
— from ‘By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept’ by Paulo Coelho
“You’re the one to whom nobody verses I love you
Unless you say it first
So you lie there holding your breath
And it’s strange how soon you forget
That you’re like stars
They only show up when it’s dark
Cause they don’t know their worth”
—  Shine, Anna Nalick

YES

There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.
No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.

“You’ve been halfway living your life for too long. When it’s time to die, go ahead and die, and when it’s time to live, live. Don’t sort-of-maybe live, but live like you’re going all out, like you’re not afraid.”
— The Secret Life of Bees

“You are good. But it is not enough just to be good. You must be good for something. You must contribute good to the world. The world must be a better place for your presence. And the good that is in you must be spread to others.”
